The St John’s College Pipe Band emerged victorious at the Inaugural World Youth Pipe Band Championships recently hosted in Glasgow.
The band secured 1st place in the Novice Juvenile B category, out of 32 outstanding bands from across the world. This was the second time the pipe band has achieved such a prestigious honour.
Hosted in Glasgow, Scotland annually the piping competition celebrates and showcases young talent in the centuries-old Scottish musical tradition. It draws bands from across the world and it is a major milestone for emerging pipe bands.
In addition to success in the Novice Juvenile B competition, the St John’s Novice Juvenile A band also finished second in drumming, in a competition involving 14 bands.
