This coming Saturday, the 26th of September, Harare will echoe with the past as Ecobank Legends Night extends its arms in an embrace of African music. The event’s second edition of the year will see 2 of the continent’s most recognisable voices joining Intotal Band on stage.
The Grammy nominated “Golden Voice of Africa”, Mali’s Salif Keita, and Yondo Sister the Congolese “Queen of Soukous,” will be headlining a night dubbed Ecobank Legends Night Africa.
This is a milestone moment for the platform, which was initially conceived by Intotal Band as a once off concert to honour the late Zimbabwean music icon Oliver Mtukudzi. It has now grown into a concert not to be missed on Zimbabwe’s event calendar, and its upcoming edition is one with international appeal.
Salif Keita has over 5 decades in music that have seen him gain global acclaim, while delivering hits such as Yamore,” “Mandjou,” “Madan,” and “Folon.” Songs that have helped shape the direction of African music.
On parallel path in time the iconic Yondo Sister has won hearts across the continent and the globe with anthems such as “Wapi Yo,” “Mbuta Mutu,” “Perdue de Vue,” and “Bazo.” In addition to gaining renown as a stage performer.
The African icons will be joined on stage by Intotal Band, and Zimbabwean music legends Leonard Zhakata, Alick Macheso, Albert Nyathi, and Tanga Wekwa Sando.
Ecobank Legends Night Africa is set for Alex Sports Club in Harare, kicking off at 6 pm.
