The Art industry has been bemoaning the lack of support by corporates in a very resource-based sector they operate in. PPC, has stepped up to the plate and decided to support the sector with the launch of a very innovative Arts funding initiative yesterday, called PPC Imaginarium.

This was launched at the National Gallery of Zimbabwe at a very strategic time as the second International Conference on African Cultures (ICAC) is ongoing at the Gallery. PPC Imaginarium is an ambitious modern art and design competition aimed at providing emerging artists and designers with the opportunity to showcase their talents through the medium of concrete. The concept of the competition was first implemented in South Africa with creatives going all out to prove that concrete might be the new Arts frontier.

Yesterday’s launch was attended by top government officials, artists and the delegates of the ICAC conference. The promise made by PPC to invest in the arts is welcome and it’s a clear indication that the sector is alive and has a lot of quality that needs to be appreciated.
