Congregants at Rhema Life Church in Lusaka’s Avondale area were last Sunday left shocked after presiding Pastor Joshua Namuyamba Marlon identified one of the members by the type of underwear she was wearing, The Church Newspaper Zambia reported.
Marlon, who has been described by the publication as a prosperity pastorpreneur, shocked members and left them with jaws dropping when he pointed at a woman – in her late 20s – and told her that she was wearing a purple thong matching her bra.
Rhema Church, the tabloid further alleged, is known for such bizarre activities disguised as miracle demonstrations by its lead pastor Marlon.
In the past, a picture of Joshua Marlon emerged where he was praying, while passionately caressing the breasts of female Church members while he was praying for them.
And in another stint, images of a certain soap graced the media, with a branded message as ‘miracle soap’ clad with Marlon’s face all over. The message beneath said if you buy the said soap at K1,500 each, you will be a lucky man or woman after using it.
“Bath your problems out”, is the mission statement on the soap branded by Marlon’s Rhema Church.
“Interestingly, the dressing alone of members of Rhema Church is as if they are attending Mosi Day of Thunder in Livingstone,” one first time goer to Rhema Church once confessed.
