Pamela Nothando Bhulu, the Germany-based singer and songwriter popularly known as Nomina recently released a collaboration with Jamaican hitmaker Sean Kingston. Closer To You! A love song that had initially been set for a Valentine’s Day release but was delayed until now.
The song is a fusion of sound and it showcases the best Africa and Jamaica has to offer. Closer To You seems set to be the international breakout moment Nomina has been waiting for. The singer said she has always been a fan of Sean Kingston so the collaboration came easy. Nomina in an interview said that she had 3 days to write to song, and it all suddenly came to her one morning.
It is a rave, dance, pop song. Kingston has his touch to the song and I also came in with my vibe and it was just a hit. I was given three days to write. I remember one morning I woke up and while at my bedside, started writing and I was like this is it. I recorded it on my phone and it was approved. This particular song is the one opening doors for me as it is inviting other artists to work with me.
In addition to music Nomina is a business woman, and an ambassador of World Peace Berlin, which is in association with the United Nations.
This year she hopes to release an EP, along with more high profile collaboration like her latest single. Nomina is set to record the video for Closer To You, with Sean Kingston in April. The song is currently available on all platforms.
