Just a few months shy of a year after the release of their debut single, the neo-soul/electronic duo MVM has gifted us with visuals from their first offering. The UK-based duo has always prided themselves on being about sisterhood and it’s no different with their latest project. The video which was recorded and then shelved for a long time is a showcase of the beauty of black women. Ruvimbo and Mutsa who make up MVM took up the roles of not only singers & songwriters but also producers for their “No Hesitations” song.
They worked with another UK-based Zimbabwean in Khalil Madovi. The video for “No Hesitations” couldn’t have been a more perfect Valentine’s Day offering. From the song’s seductive melodies and smooth vocals to the lyricism and the warm gentle visuals. The duo featured on Shingai Shonhiwa’s last album and they were recently sharing the stage with the singer. They’ll slowly find their feet in the industry but they’re definitely a group to watch.
In a Mutsa shared how instrumental Shingai had to the duo’s career, from giving them a chance to mentoring them.
“We’re thankful to Shingai Shonhiwa who took us under her wing and you know took us into the studio. Literally from the ground up, she was like yes I want to work with you guys. She loved what we were doing and we haven’t even got started yet. So I’m so happy to know that they’re people behind us but I’m also excited that this is just the beginning.”
The duo’s dream collaborations include the likes of Tkay Maidza , Simba Tagz and Hope Masike among others. They don’t know yet where the future will take them but they’re hoping they’ll have the chance to share more music that speaks to them like “No Hesitations”. You can check out the video on YouTube.
