The Miss Tourism Zimbabwe pageant organizers have denied conflicting with the Miss Zimbabwe pageant during a press conference to announce the program and dates for Miss Tourism Zimbabwe 2017. The press conference was done at the Rainbow towers Hotel in Harare yesterday. Mr Maphosa, one of the organizers said that he was in contact with the Miss Zimbabwe pageant.
“We are not competing with Miss Zimbabwe pageant. We are talking to them.” said Maphosa.
The Minister of Tourism and Hospitality, Honourable Walter Mzembi, accused the media of of promoting what he termed ‘artificial conflict’ between the two pageants.
During the Press Conference, Mrs. Barbara Mzembi, one of the Miss Tourism Zimbabwe organizers and patrons said that the pageant which is supposed to promote the girl child shall be held on the 9th of December this year while the applications shall be open from 1 July. Scouting for talent shall start in September. This comes after an acclaimed success of the pageant last year.
