Tatenda Chioniso, an African contemporary singer, songwriter, self-taught mbira player, acoustic guitarist, percussionist, and music educator based in Harare, is set to captivate audiences with her upcoming show Mbira Valentine’s. In an effort to promote and preserve the rich cultural heritage of Zimbabwean mbira music, “Mbira Valentines,” serves as a platform to showcase this traditional art form. The event, which was founded two years ago, has become an annual celebration that brings together different mbira music artists to commemorate love through the enchanting melodies of the mbira.
Scheduled to take place tomorrow, February 9th at Alliance Française in Harare, “Mbira Valentines” promises a night of soul-stirring performances. This year, attendees will have the pleasure of experiencing the musical talents of Taffie Matiure, Nasibo, Tendex, and Mazwi band.
