TODAY, Rooftop Promotions in partnership with Music in Africa Foundation, announced that they will be bringing to the stage Mbeu and The Mhodzi Tribe Band this Friday the 11th of December 2020 at their Theatre in the Park venue in Harare.

The fast-rising star, who was groomed at Pakare Paye Arts Centre, will close down the Music in Africa Live concert series 2020 in Zimbabwe.

The Music in Africa Live series program was launched by the Music in Africa Foundation as a response to the effects of the global COVID-19 to the music industry. It is aimed at offering financial support to operators, to enable them to create high-quality works and promote, market and showcase their content to a wider global audience, primarily via digital means.

The Rooftop Promotions run Theatre in the Park is part of the African institutions partnering Music in Africa Foundation in implementing this digital showcase for musical artists in Africa. The Harare-based hub has been the only recipient of this grant in Zimbabwe and has so far implemented several arts development projects from national to regional level.

In a statement to the press, Mbeu’s management said they were more than excited and very ready for the concert.

“We are very excited to be part of this program, and having been selected to be the final act means we must bring our “A” game to the stage. We assure our loyal fans and new viewers an electrifying performance. We are ready,” says Eugene Museredza, the band manager.

Likewise, Theatre in the Park runner and producer, Daves Guzha said they “couldn’t have asked for a better artist to do the honours of closing this very rewarding Music in Africa Live Concert”.

“Arguably, Mbeu, is Zimbabwe’s highly gifted and fastest rising star,” said Guzha

Theatre in the Park communications officer Passmore Ndlovu said the Music in Africa Live series performers were carefully selected based on their experience and potential to go global with their music career.

Sensational singer-songwriter, fine artist, and Princess of mbira Hope Masike opened the series with her performance on the 30th of October.

Masike’s act was followed by Bulawayo-based Jazz/Gospel star Vuyo Brown, who debuted at Theatre in the Park on the 20th of November.

Mbeu’s concert will be the third and final concert of the 2020 Music in Africa Live series in Zimbabwe. The performance will happen from 6:30 PM to 8 PM and will be live-streamed on the Theatre in the Park Harare Facebook page.
