Still buzzing with excitement after the successful release of her second single Uthando last month, South African-based Zimbabwean gospel songbird Lindi Marc has descended on Bulawayo this weekend to stage her first-ever show in the city that raised her as Zimbabwe comes off a harmonised general election held across the country on Monday, July 30.
The incumbent President Emmerson Mnangagwa was declared the president-elect by the Zimbabwe Electoral Commision (ZEC).
Dubbed a Night of Praise with Lindi Marc & Friends, the much-anticipated gospel music concert will see performances from an array of established and burgeoning game-changing gospel artists from across the country.
On the performing roaster are Minister Grace from South Africa, Sandra Chirenje, Reward Judah, Keen, Tinashe, Ellison Tande, Jairos Mutambikwa and Vuyo Brown.
All the artists are thrilled to be staging in the City of Kings and Queens and are promising more than just entertainment.
Fast-rising Mutare gospel musician Jairos Mutambikwa who earlier this year released a DVD album titled Live at Mutambara Mission that consists of praise and worship songs, is promising fireworks.
“We will be coming down to Bulawayo. Expect fireworks. I hope and believe that someone will receive Jesus Christ as we will be ministering,” he said.
Born Free Crew member Tinashe “Nendoro” Mupambawashe who in recent years has tackled a solo career is inviting people to come into their numbers.
“I’ll be in Bulawayo for the Night of Praise alongside Lindi Marc and friends. See you there. Come and support in your numbers.”
“I invite you to come. I don’t know what has been bothering you, what has been surrounding you, troubling you and giving you sleepless nights. As we will praise the Lord, I assure you that the Lord will set you free. Come and join us on Saturday. It’s going to be a night of joy, a night of praise. It’s going to be so epic,” said the jubilant Reward ‘Judah’ Ndlovu.
Hailing from Harare Sandra Chirenje who launched her third album Shekinah in February this year is promising attendees energy-packed performances.
“Come let’s worship together, praise the Lord together. It will be something beautiful. Just come and expect energy-packed performances from me.”
South African-based Zimbabwean Minister Grace said it will be a night of good experience and that she is bringing her dancing shoes.
“It’s gonna be awesome, it’s gonna be amazing as we will praise and worship the Lord. I promise you fireworks. I would love to encourage everyone to come. Don’t miss this event for any reason. Don’t miss it for anything because you’re you will miss out. It will be a good experience with so many artists. We’re going to be to be fellowshipping with you. As for me, I’m coming with my dancing shoes. It will be a night to remember. I’m bringing fireworks from South Africa.”
The headliner Lindi Marc, who has emerged as a vibrant and vital new gospel musician around with a truly regional and musically diverse audience, terms the concert ‘a night of celebration’.
“This is going to be one on the crest concert that I’ve ever have in Zimbabwe. There will be a lot of great artists from Mutare, Harare, Bulawayo and some will fly all the way from South Africa. It’s going to be a powerful night, it will be a memorable night as we will be praising, worshipping, praying for our nation and also celebrating what God has done for us. So, it’s a night of celebration. Expect so much joy, so much praise, so much worship and there will be a lot of deliverance and God will minister into many people’s lives.
The public is invited to attend the concert. The event will be held Saturday, August 4 from 4 PM – 8 PM at Family of God Church (African Revival/Cnr JMoyo and 11th Avenue, in Bulawayo.
