It seems we’ll soon be getting new music from arguably Zimbabwe’s current biggest act.
Jah Prayzah took to social media to announce that he would be launching a new album in May of this year. The artist didn’t reveal anything about the upcoming project besides that they’ll be launch events in both Harare and Bulawayo. The album follows on the steps of Gwara, which was released in 2021 and received high acclaim. It will take some doing if Jah Prayzah is to beat that or match those heights.
In 2022 Jah had a fairly muted year in terms of music releases. The singer released 3 main singles. Furuwa was the first it was a remake of the classic love song “Furuwa Furuwa” by Tairos Tendaupenyu & the Rising Power band. This was followed by Ticheneke and Dzima which features South African sensation Makhadzi.
This added to a rich catalogue that already has him regarded as Zimbabwe’s King of Collaborations. The latest project will be Jah Prayzah’s 13th album.
