In Exodus 16:1 we learn how the children of Israel, in their journey to the promised land (the land of their salvation), came to a place, between Elim and Sinai, called the wilderness of Sin.
Matthew 3 speaks of a man known by John the Baptist who came preaching in the Wilderness of Judea. Verse 2 of Matthew 3 reveals that his sermon was a call to repentance, therefore it also stands to reason that John the Baptist came preaching in the wilderness of Sin.
The Bible tells us that the children of Israel murmured against Moses and Aaron: How that when they were in Egypt, they had plenty to eat and now they suffered hunger.
Psalms 76:19 even tells us that they went on to mock God;
“Yea, they spake against God; they said, Can God furnish a table in the wilderness?”
So the real question was; in the wilderness of Sin, does God have the ability to feed us until we reach our salvation(the land of promise)?
The Bible is clear in that Moses, at God’s command, tells the Children of Israel to gather enough manna for the day only; that they may not keep the manna of yesterday and eat it the next day.
Jesus, when teaching us the model of prayer, pronounces “Give us this day our daily bread.”
The Lord spoke to me and said: “Do not despise the power of the daily bread.” The scriptures reveal, that of them that heeded not the instruction of the Lord’s servant, their reserved manna rotted. You see many believers are struggling because they have not harkened to the instruction of the Lord, that they, by faith should daily receive, fresh manna from heaven daily. The preacher man is holding on to yesterday’s revelation because he fears that tomorrow God will not cause bread to rain down.
Jesus, being the Word of God that became flesh, declares in John 6:51,
“I am the living bread which came down from heaven…”
Child of God, I know by the revelation of the Holy Ghost, that there is a wilderness that you are experiencing in some areas of your life: But the Bible tells me in Exodus 16:35,
“And the children of Israel did eat manna forty years, until they came to a land inhabited; they did eat manna, until they came unto the borders of the land of Canaan.”
Beloved, the Lord told me to tell you, that if only you would daily, tarry in the bread of his Word, even in the midst of your wilderness experience, that you would make it to your promised land!
If you know this Word is for you, let heaven hear the sound of your rejoice as you declare, “Give us this day our daily bread.”
