Church service at an unidentified evangelical church in Ghana was disrupted after a celebrity Jujuman Nana Kwaku Bonsam reportedly stormed the parish in the West African country to retrieve his Juju from a pastor.
The pastor’s name has been withheld.
In a video making rounds on the internet, the herbalist and his crew could be seen disrupting activities in the church while telling the pastor to return the Juju he allegedly collected from him, lamenting how he is going to die if he is unable to retrieve his juju from the supposed man of God.
Kwaku Bonsam was heard saying “I told you to be patient” but it was not certain if he was speaking directly with the pastor, who was totally confounded by the unexpected move.
He was heard shouting on the pastor that about 1,600 pastors he is serving with juju will lose something precious should the juju kill him because of his abuse of the juju. Apparently, his charms weren’t happy with how the pastor was using the juju hence the directive to retrieve it to avoid danger.
Asked about how he got to know Kwaku Bonsam on the sidelines of the contretemps, the pastor disclosed that a friend introduced him and they have even worked for quite a long time. He mostly convinces people and takes them to Kwaku Bonsam for spiritual assistance, dupe them in the end and then share the money among themselves.
According to the man of God, the juju Kwaku gave him to establish his own church in Kumasi never worked and after returning it to him, he rejected it and encouraged him to take it back. He then gave the juju to another traditionalist since it wasn’t working for him and that’s the reason for Kwaku Bonsam’s actions.
This is not the first time the celebrity jujuman had come into friction with the church. In 2014 he was at war with Nigeria and Africa’s most popular seer, Prophet T.B Joshua, where he vowed to expose the Nigerian cleric and chase him out of Ghana.
Recently he stated in an interview that he has pastor-clients across the African continent – about 1700 of them – and they approach him for different charms to boost membership in their churches, Pulse Nigeria reports.
“Over 1, 700 pastors and so-called men of God from different parts of Africa have approached me, seeking powers to perform miracles, including Prophet T.B Joshua from Nigeria. He is my boy. I challenge him to come out and deny this.
Apart from the pastors, many prominent business people and celebrated church founders in Africa frequent my shrine for my services and if they deny, I am going to name them.”
Bonsam, who operates from a shrine at Sa-Peiman, a village on the outskirts of Nsawam in east Ghana, said his god is called Kofi-Kofi and provides him with supernatural powers that are desperately needed by pastors from all walks of life.
Earlier this year, another Ghanaian professional Stage Illusionist, Vodu and Afa Priest, a voodoo practitioner and founder of Afrikan Magick Temple, Christopher Voncujovi, revealed that pastors, prophets and other members of the five-fold ministry are among the many customers who visit his shrine for consultations and spiritual guidance.
The revelation that some men of God go to fetish priests for help and spiritual guidance comes at a time where a raft of reports have alleged that most popular televangelists and contemporary prophets in Africa go to West Africa to source their powers.
A 2015 report by another Ghanaian paper the Daily Guide, established that over 1 700 pastors and “men of God” from different parts of Africa were approaching the seemingly most powerful “sangoma” in Ghana for powers to perform miracles.
