Ruka Hair, co-founded by Tendai Moyo, walked away with the Positive Impact Award on the Breakthrough Track (businesses with revenue between $2 – $10 million), at the recently held 2025 Business of Beauty Global Awards.

The UK-based brand was celebrated for the remarkable quality of its unique, proprietary human hair alternative fiber, and how this addresses an urgent need for non-toxic, ethically-sourced hair extension products.

“We just won The Business of Fashion’s global beauty summit award in front of some of the most decorated executives in the beauty industry,” shared Tendai Moyo in an Instagram post.

“Truth be told I prayed to have a fruitful conversation with a sephora exec [We’re working on an in-person launch]. Not only was I placed next to her at the awards ceremony but she announced our win. Isn’t God good.”

Co-founded by Tendai Moyo and Ugorji Agbai, Ruka Hair is a hair extensions company specifically designed with black hair textures in mind.

The brand has been sported by the likes of Serena Williams, who wore the brand’s kinky hair textured ponytail in 2022, while competing at Wimbledon.
