Five time Grammy Award winning music collective Maverick City Music recently released their 13th album ‘The Maverick Way Reimagined’. A 32 track album that is dominated by reimaginations of some of the collective’s previous works, along with a few new songs. Featured on this latest release is the talented Zimbabwean vocalist, Annatoria.
The singer collaborates with the group on the opening track of the project, which is an Afrobeats version of “In The Room”, a song initially released in 2023 by Maverick City Music before the current remake.
“In The Room” has a host of writers, that include Tasha Cobbs Leonard, Naomi Raine, G. Morris Coleman, Annatoria, Jonathan Jay, and Carvello. The Gospel song is an exultation of God and it celebrates how God is ever present. It is a beautiful meeting of Gospel music and Afrobeats, with Annatoria’s mellifluous vocals as the star of the occasion.
The collaboration comes a few weeks before Maverick City Music are set to perform in Zimbabwe, alongside multi-Grammy Award winner Kirk Franklin as part of the Kingdom World Tour. The tour will have 10+ stops across Africa, and it will also grace Europe and Asia. Annatoria is set to be perform alongside the collective and Kirk Franklin, when the tour lands in Harare, Zimbabwe.
The concert will be on the 12th of August at Glamis Arena and tickets are currently on sale via the Kingdom World Tour website and at the Innovative Technologies branches located at Eastgate and Sam Levy Village.
