Almasi Collaborative Arts calls for African short film scripts

After a year that them host their inaugural play festival, alongside hosting workshops with Pullitzer and Academy Award winners, Almasi Collaborative Arts is looking to have an even more expansive year in the arts.

Having already issued an audition notice for its Solo Monologue Performance Initiative, the organisation is now calling for short film scripts.

Almasi Collaborative Arts is seeking exceptionally written short film scripts from African writers. The organisation is looking for bold, distinctive voices and stories that demonstrate narrative ingenuity, emotional authenticity, and a clear vision for the screen.

Requirements:

· Original short film scripts (15 pages maximum)

· Any genre

· African writers

· Scripts that are fully realised, visually driven, and structurally confident

Submissions will be limited to one per writer.

Subject line: SHORT FILM SUBMISSION – [Your Name] – [Script Title]

Scripts must be attached as a PDF, formatted to industry standard. Include a brief synopsis and a short bio in the body of the email.

Co-founded by Zimbabwean-American actress Danai Gurira, Almasi Collaborative Arts is a Dramatic Arts organization that brings the African dramatic narrative to the world through Education, Access and providence of Professional opportunity to African artists.

Almasi does this through year around education and professional programming in its current home base: Harare, Zimbabwe; along with facilitating artistic collaborations between African dramatic artists and top American artists and artistic institutions.
