Three Zimbabweans have appeared on Forbes Africa’s promising entrepreneurs in the 30 under 30 business category rankings for 2018.
Forbes Africa, which gives each year 30 promising people under the age of 30 years, this year categorised the ranked youths into three categories of business, technology and creative, each with 30 people.
The three ranked Zimbabweans on the business category in include Nomvula Mhambi, Gilbert Eugene Peters and Samuelle Dimairho.
Last year’s Forbes Africa’s promising under 30 African youths had two Zimbabweans Knight Ganje and Shaleen Manhire Nullens.
In the technology category of Forbes Africa’s 30 under 30 rankings only one Zimbabwean, Simba Mubvuma, co-founder of Lexware Inc was selected.
Mubvumi’s company idea came when at university after creating a program which allowed law students to access court judgements and legislation from smart phones without internet according to Forbes Africa.
“This ensured that in a time where broadband coverage was limited and expensive, students could still access key legal resources from their phones,” Mubvumi is quoted.
Lexware Inc today is a company that focuses on increasing efficiency in legal systems, placing its clients as market leaders in the various countries it operates.
Zimbabwe however has no one selected in the creatives category of the 30 under 30 Forbes Africa’s promising youths.
The country is still setting up hubs across the country after the launch of the National ICT Policy.
