Prayersoul Cuts Ties With Troubled CookOut ZW Event

Zimbabwean Artist Prayersoul has made a statement distancing himself from the Harare-based events company, the CookOut ZW. In a public statement shared on his personal social media, the enterprising musician said his course with the event has come to an end. “This is to notify you all that I will no longer be a partner of the CookOut,” the statement read.

CookOut ZW had a rough end to the year. Its scheduled event on the 27th of December ended before it began when police stormed the venue leaving fans hot and very bothered. The event later posted an apology to revellers and attempted to reboot the event the following weekend with a lower than usual turnout. Whether the police trouble is the inspiration behind Prayersoul’s spilt is purely speculation. The artist only attributed the end of his 5-year stint with the franchise as time for a new adventure specifically this March.

Whatever that may be, we hope to attend both another CookOut ZW event and Prayersoul oriented adventure really soon. Prayersoul thanked his fans, friends and family for supporting the event.

Cook Out ZW Started in 2017, the picnic-style event gave up-market events like Unplugged ZIM and Big Chill a solid run for their money. In hot pursuit of these forerunners were the likes of Fiesta Fiesta and the reawakening Madirirano catering to everyday city-dwellers down for a groove. CookOut ZW drew large crowds in the cities of Harare, Bulawayo and Gweru. The franchise last year hosted a getaway in Inyanga.
