DJ CHRXN/Gamuchirai Chogugudza is better known as an Artist branding and Management guy from Chitungwiza, Zimbabwe. Leading up to a recent rebrand, he took on an interesting collaborative project that features the rising firebrands; Tamy Moyo as well as the ‘Kure’ hitmaker Ishan.

Titled 1700/Waiting; the song is brought to life with a blend of Afro and Electric sound called Mumbatone. The single is a fusion of Pop and Traditional Acoustics that created a progressive urbane love song.

Visually, 1700/Waiting is a depiction of Zimbabwean youth culture, set in the streets of Harare. Video Producer SimDoc portrays savannah shots in a minimally cringy way. Tamy and Ishan look like the cool-kids we’ve known to love and feature familiar faces like those of Afro-Pop Artist Bryan K.
