While we were being simultaneously blistered by the Malawian sun and cooled by it’s might Lake; we got the cool-kid privilege of chatting to Kenyan super group Sauti Sol. The Kenyan band kicked off their Melanin World Tour as one of the headlining acts of the Lake of Stars Festival.

In mid-drool, we got to chatting about tonnes of stuff including their alleged split; girls and their collaboration with Jah Prayzah as part of their upcoming album, Afrikan Sauce. News about the collaboration broke earlier in the year when Zimbabwean heartthrob Jah Prayzah shared a snip of him and Sauti Sol’s Bien hard at work on some music on an Instagram post.

We spoke to Jah Prayzah’s Manager Keen Mushapaidze, who promised a fusion of Mbira and signature Sauti Sol Afro-pop in the collab;

we’re really excited about this collaboration with Sauti Sol who are arguably the best group in Africa at present, the album will e on both Jah Prayzah’s and Sauti Sol’s albums.

Jah Prayzah’s 12-track album titled Chitubu is set to be released this year in early November. Meanwhile, Sauti Sol also let it slip that they would be coming to Zimbabwe this December.

We love it when a good thing comes together!
