The Festival Director of Intwasa Festival ko Bulawayo, Raisdon Baya made the announcement of this exciting development yesterday on Twitter.

Sue Nyathi, the Johannesburg based writer who is an investment analyst by day and a storyteller by night; shared her excitement about launching the new labour of love on home turf,

“It feels great to be launching at home, we often get lynched about not launching at home but sometimes the platforms are not available to us. So I am really excited to be part of Intwasa!”

The Intwasa Arts Festival ko Bulawayo is an annual spring celebration of Arts and Culture, hosted on the last week of Septemeber. This year the festival will curate 25 events in theatre, dance, music, visual art, literary arts and spoken word.

The Gold Diggers which was published in June this year is set in 2008 at the height of Zimbabwe’s economic demise. Featuring a group of passengers about to embark on a treacherous expedition to the City of Gold; this dangerous passage comes at a grave price for what they believe is a better life. Critics have described the story as one told with brave honesty and bold description.

The festival kicks off on the 25 -29 September with Umkhathi Theatre as they present a performance titled Bloom Bloom. The detailed Intwasa Festival koBulawayo Programme launches tomorrow.
