Zimbabwe Cricket Interim Committee, yesterday appointed Vincent Richard Hogg as the Interim Managing Director of Zimbabwe Cricket after suspending Givemore Makoni from the post in June this month.
The appointment follows the interim Committee’s Board Meeting on Thrusday last week.

“‘Vince’ Hogg, a former Zimbabwe National Cricket team player, was previously the Managing Director of Zimbabwe Cricket for the two years ending August 2002.” the SRC Board says in a press release.
“He brings with him a wealth of experience in cricket and general corporation administration.”

SRC, on 21 June 2019, suspended Givemore Makoni and ZC on allegations involving fraud exchange control violations and other acts of corruption and criminality related to the monies and assets of the sporting resources and the International Cricket Council.

“It is a matter of documented public knowledge that Zimbabwe Cricket has been the subject matter of several controversies over the years. There have been allegations of outright disregard for its own constitution, neglect of the development of the game and related infrastructure throughout the country,” the SRC board said announcing the suspension of ZC.
“Certain of its office bearers, past and present, have been the subject matter of allegations involving fraud exchange control violations and other acts of corruption and criminality related to the monies and assets of Zimbabwe Cricket and the International Cricket Council,”
“At different times, and on at least two different occasions, the SRC has intervened, suspended officials and board members, without the involvement of ICC, respecting the application of the domestic laws of Zimbabwe, particularly in those instances where the concerns of the respective parties coincided in the ICC’s articles and Zimbabwe Cricket’s own constitution.”

An interim Committe’s Board, which held the meeting on Thursday, replaced the ZC. The Board comprises of David Ellman-Brown, Ahmed Ibrahim, Charlie Robertson, Cyprian Mandenge, Robertson Chinyengetere, Sekesai Nhokwara and Duncan Frost.

“The International Cricket Council has indicated that the interim Committee may attend the ICC meeting set for the 18th July 2019 for the purposes of making representation to the ICC Board before Zimbabwe’s membership status is decided upon,” SRC  says.
