Johnny Clegg’s Final Journey Tour to Harare

For over three decades, Johnny Clegg has sold over five million albums of his brand of crossover music worldwide.
He has since wowed vast audiences with his audacious live shows and won many national and international awards for his music and for his outspoken views. The former Juluka front-man was part of South Africa’s first interracial rock which often got him on the wrong side of the law during the Apartheid Regime.

Johnny Clegg’s history is just as bold, colourful and dashing as the rainbow country which he has called home for more than 40 years. His haunting refrain Impi (meaning “Zulu warriors” or “War”) regularly echoes within any South African Rugby stadium which, together with his song Great Heart from the movie Jock of The Bushveld, The Crossing a moving tribute to his dancing partner Dudu Ndlovu and Asimbonanga which has achieved anthem status with crowds in his home country and internationally. A

Sadly, in an interview with the Los Angeles Times, Johnny Clegg confirmed that despite rounds of Chemotherapy his Cancer went into remission. This in turn inspired his Final Journey Tour which kicked off in North America shortly after the release his new album aptly titled ‘King of Time’ late last year.  While the tour just wrapped up in Port Elizabeth, South Africa its continuation features Europe and African countries such as Denmark, Belgium, France, Germany, the UK and Zimbabwe this May.

Accompanied by Mandisa Dlanga, who has been in his touring band since the 1980s, and guitarist Andy Innes, who has been along for the ride for a quarter century, his band also includes his 29-year-old son, Jesse who has followed his father’s footsteps, carving a career of music of his own.

After over a decade, Johnny Clegg will finally returns to Zimbabwe the country where he spent seven years of his youth, for one concert only. These will be a historic and unforgettable concert not to be missed! Along with these Concert-goers can look forward to notable hits such as I Call Your Name, Scatterlings of Africa, African Sky Blue, Kilimanjaro and many more at the RainTree, Umwinsidale, Harare on the 4th of  May 2018 a night of music and a historic send off for one of Africa’s most loved musicians.
