After a false start to dropping his debut album, Tehn Diamond officially dropped A Few Good Poems on the 14th of January. This was after the ‘raw version’ of the album which was distributed and sold for US$5 was claimed to have been a studio leak. Other claims are that the team was pressured to drop the project in October because they had announced that it was dropping. Surprisingly this ‘unofficial’ version of the album still got a Best Album nomination for the 2016 Zim Hip Hop Awards.
However we are glad that Tehn finally dropped the project which had been hugely anticipated. There are few additions like No Stress ft Thaiwanda Thai which was also debuted last week and Tehn released a public streaming link. After listening to this new track we can safely say that Tehn has gotten back his mojo.
Apart from changing the tracklist, Tehn also change the album art. He had previously used a a portrait of him wearing a crown. This had given us an impression that he was reaffirming the dominance of a group he is part of, Few Kings. This collective also includes top rapper Jnr Brown and producer/deejay Take Fizzo. He has however the album cover to a photograph of him and his mother which was taken 13 days after he was born. Born for the camera, we see you Tehn!
The Album is being distributed by Africori which has links to leading online music stores. The album is already available for purchase on iTunes and other leading sites. Only sales will tell if the ‘ King of Zim Hip Hop’ has returned to claim his throne.
