Last Friday was a night full of glitz and glamour. Well, for the star of the night his supporters and the attendees! King Avry was launching his E.P Love and Lyrics, with the support of a lineup that stepped up to the plate at maintained the energy of the stage until his performance.

The body of work was released online on the 28th of September and Friday marked the official release and live band performance at an event dubbed the ‘Royal Experience Sessions‘ powered by Mtaka Media. Veryus trio Verseless, Mile and Marcques were in attendance and also had a chance to set the stage on fire. One act who really shined during the event was little-known Skigo whose act and romance with the stage we nothing short of amazing!

Mik Manjengwa and Young Zee‘s act was a stunner also, with Mik showing that he is still hungry for the R’n’B crown that Trevor Dongo supposedly has. Femcee Sachaa who has been flying low under the radar gave a singing side of her which was not really shabby at all. Might we add that her dress got some heads turning, literally

As the night progressed the weather turned sour with the wind bringing in a cold breeze we had not planned for. However, warmth soon returned to our bodies as the man of the night King Avry stepping onto the dance whilst being backed by The Stonecold Band. Trust us, their name really echoes what these guys do with their instruments. The sound was crispy and Avry’s voice complemented this creating a dancing vibe that kept us on our feet for the rest of the night. His Afro Pop combined with samples of popular tracks by the band gave a truly unforgettable experience.

We hope these artists will move forward with this collaborative effort and drop more events like these so that they can push their music to the people. The day is still a long way where some of our ‘best’ will escape the ‘many more’ on concert fliers!
