No rain, no mud.
Oppikoppi is as dusty as ever.
This weekend all roads lead to the festival happening at the dusty Oppikoppi Farm in Northam, South Africa to celebrate the coming of spring in style. Oppikoppi 2018 promises an unforgettable time of unadulterated chaos mixed up with just enough electrifying melodies to help let you loose and make new friends…
With a line-up that features a diverse array of some of the most innovative artists in Africa’s landscape, there’ll be music for all tastes and genres over the course of three days. Having multi-stages during the three-day festival, the best part of Oppi is the range of musical talent available, with something for everyone. From favourites to discovering new artists; the 2018 line-up includes Zahara, Bongeziwe Mabandla, award-winning rapper Kwesta, legendary rock band Wonderboom; electronic music sensation Goodluck, alternate Afrikaans rock band, Fokofpolisiekar, skater kid turned electronic music producer Muzi and of course including the 2018 tribute artist, the most celebrated and iconic Zimbabwean songwriter cum musician extraordinaire, Oliver Mtukudzi.
While the whole weekend features stellar acts, great memories are also made in trying to locate the place – we present to you the ultimate drive to Oppikoppi Playlist. Since the Farm is located in the outskirt area of Northam, that’s a lot of road so here are some tunes. The playlist is essential in getting yourself and your friends Oppi-ready beforehand.
This year festival-goers will be journeying through one of South Africa’s best road trip routes – the majestic Valley Route.
Whilst you pack, remember to put together a survival kit for the weekend which could include a mouth and nose guard against the dust that will out of the blue turn to mud; sunscreen, shades and a very strong flashlight.
The key ingredient to a great Oppi-weekend is an open mind, so enjoy this collection as you ready for some fun.
The dust will rise and be settled this weekend at the Oppikoppi Farm in Northam South Africa.
