ZIMRA Acting Commissioner General Retires

Acting Commissioner General (ACG) of the Zimbabwe Revenue Authority (ZIMRA) Rameck Masaire has retired.

Masaire’s retirement is with effect from 1 February 2022 according to the ZIMRA Board Vice-Chairperson Josephine Matambo.

Matambo said, “With his (Masaire) vast tax knowledge and experience, he has provided valuable leadership to the organisation (ZIMRA) and the team that he has been working with over the years.”

“A number of notable achievements have been recorded during his time in ZIMRA, which will remain as invaluable legacy for the organisation and the nation.”

Masaire was appointed the Acting Commissioner General at ZIMRA after the resignation of Faith Mazani.

He had re-joined ZIMRA as Commissioner Domestic Taxes on 1 September 2021 coming from Ernst & Young.

He was appointed ACG on 1 February 2021 from the role of Commissioner Domestic Taxes.

ZIMRA received Masaire’s notice on 30 December 2021.

Masaire will be replaced by ZIMRA board member Dr. Morris B Mpofu as the Acting Commissioner.

Dr. Mpofu’s appointment is in terms of section 17 (4) (b) of the Public Entities Corporate Governance Act [Chapter 10:31] according to Matambo.
