The innovative tech-hub Impact Hub Zimbabwe and online publication Zimbo Jam have teamed together to forge a necessary digi-creative conversation. Roping in 20 young passionate femme creatives, ‘These Images are Stories’ is a project that merges Photography and Poetry to channel conversations that explore the role that everyday young women play in shaping and improving the world.

“There is no better person to tell the story of strong women other than me, a woman”

The young ladies are a mixture of Professional Creatives and Amateurs with the task of expressing themselves under the theme Personifying Strong Women. The Project involved a series of workshops facilitated by the likes of renowned Spoken Word Artist Batsirai Chigama and British Photographer Laurie McPherson. The question “what determines a strong woman in a Zimbabwean context”, brought up strong yet familiar elements representing Sexual expression, Self Love, Motherhood and Lifestyle

Supported by the British Council through its #ArtsZWUK Open Call, the project will soon be launching an Online Exhibition which fuses Poetry and Visual Art.

What do you think personifies a strong African Woman?
