Garry Mapanzure Has a New Album in the Works

2023 is setting up to be another exciting year for Zimbabwean music. Only halfway into January and we’ve already had projects from Winky D and Holy Ten, and now Garry Mapanzure has announced a new album is in the mix. Garry let on that he’ll be releasing his 3rd full project, titled NOVUS. 

As consistent as ever, the gifted Afropop artist who gave us Special Delivery early last year has been dropping singles in recent months. He collaborated with Nutty O for Body Language and then with Shinsoman for Aida. Both songs being vibrant and upbeat as typical of Garry’s music. 

Garry seems to be playing his cards close to his chest with this upcoming album. He would only reveal that it’s going to be released this year. Although as NOVUS already has it’s artwork done, fans are expecting it’s release will be some time soon. He referred to it as a refreshed version of himself during our short conversation. 

The artist has also been going through changes in his music career. His longtime manager Silvaa King recently retired from artist management. Garry however said they were still working together outside of music.

We are still working together but not on a music management spectrum. However we had a good productive time. In life you work with different people and your journey takes you to its destination and you move on individually successful.

What’s the inspiration behind your latest album title?

It’s something that I’m going to tell the world about close to the release, something that has made me feel new, refreshed and rejuvenated. My biggest blessing. 

What can people expect from your upcoming album Novus?

A refreshed, renewed and revived Garry Mapanzure. The love songs, the gospel, the motivation and the truth 

Is it a continuation of the journey from Special Delivery?

No it’s not, special delivery was special delivery and NOVUS is NOVUS. Special Delivery Mapanzure and Novus Mapanzure are two different souls
