Everyone deserves that special someone that sends shivers down his or her spine .  Do you remember That love we used to see our grandparents have and in those romantic movies, you always repeat. As much as our generation yearns for such love, the standards and views of the 21st century generations on dating have poisoned all of us with vile thoughts that have created a tug of war instead of loving and caring for each other. It has become so impossible and a million in one chance to find true love and get those romantic gestures from your partner.

Dating In 2016Now being in a relationship or dating is a game for many. Instead of caring for each other, it is now all about making sure you not being played. Is this not ridiculous? Whenever have mind games worked out? That is why most couples do not last in our generation. It has placed many youngsters on the defense mode always because in their minds when dating it is either you the predator or the prey. It is such a delicate state; our generation now focuses too much on showing how they do not care instead of confessing their love.

The common line nowadays is “Let’s be friends, Just friends. I’m not ready for a relationship but I expect you to do things with me”. I’m sure many people are common with it, it’s either you the one who said it or someone told you. Is it not such a bore, what has our generation come to? Someone will even say it with a straight face that, “We not together, you cannot claim me but you cannot be with anyone but me”. Like really! It has become so easy for people to toy with someone’s emotions. Where is the humility?

Dating used to be so fulfilling, now it is about proving your worth for someone’s time. Trying to prove that you worth a call or text. Our generation is hard headed; it is all about refusing to lower standards to accommodate those who refuse to raise theirs. There is no trust anymore, everyone play games and exclusiveness is now a privilege and not a necessity. It is all about what have you done for me, to want this. Dating is now cliché’ cause you always experience the same drama. Who taught us to love like this? That is what we call dating now in 2016.

I came across some tweets on what people define dating in 2016. Tyooo! It is a mouthful. Truth to be told it was not pleasant and I wonder how we got here. Below are some of the tweets:-
