The best newcomer Zim Hip Hop award-winning artist, Tanto Wavie is bound to win a few old Zimbabwean souls and hearts thanks to his new visuals. The single is titled John Chibadura and is a quirky time travel experience that tells the story of one of the biggest Zimbabwean music legends.
The video begins while Tanto Wavie scrolls through American Rapper Quavo’s Instagram. Shortly after there is a transition from that to the (good) old days of radio cassettes.
You might want to look closely at what we think was a dig at Takura as the cassette on number two below his has a Tag NOISE on it. Hmmmmm!
The dress code changes too, from the modern-day basic to the John Chibadura type of swag. Directed by SIMDOC we believe the gentleman is getting better at executing these not so cliche concepts.
In the song and video at large Tanto Wavie address how back in the day people never had the Bubble gum rappers like Quavo but had Legends like John Chibadura shutting things down in places like Mbare etc…the lyrics and the old school vibe in the video compliment each other well making it fun to watch.
